Big Daddy's, Woodinville

Preferred music: Classic Rock/80's/Blues
Room size: Medium
Stage: Small stage, bring junction AC boxes
Lights In house
PA: In house
Controlling Agency: ?
Overall Rating: 4 Stars - Pretty Good
Comments: Smaller dance floor-packs easily. Drummer usually plays the in-house drums unless arranged prior. Good PA and sound guy (cool guy). He can record the band live and give you a CD, which is cool. Bring a fan, it gets hot on stage!

China Clipper, Shoreline

Preferred music: Danceable Rock, R&B
Room size: Small, intimate
Stage: Corner stage
Lights No
PA: No
Controlling Agency: Far West?
Overall Rating: 4 Stars - Pretty Good
Comments: Club also has karaoke bar in separate area from band & Thursday is some cheap drink specials night!

Diamondbacks, Cle Ellum

Preferred music: Top 40, Disco
Room size: Small
Stage: No stage (see below)
Lights Provided
PA: Bring it
Controlling Agency: 3Ci
Overall Rating: 2 Stars - Barely Okay
Comments:

The "stage" is a corner stage in the restaurant and would be better considered a "performance area". Load in has to be done by 4:00pm because it's a pretty spendy fine-dining mom & pop restaurant. Load in is through the front door and they clear tables to produce a dance floor. The stage has brass railings around it.

Emerald Queen Casino, Tacoma

Preferred music: Top 40, Dance
Room size: Large
Stage: Large
Lights Provided
PA: Provided
Controlling Agency: 3Ci/BBA
Overall Rating: 5 Stars - Excellent
Comments:

Excellent place to play. Packed full of people. All staff members are very nice: bartenders, security, etc. Excellent sound man!

Fabulous Firwood, Fife

Preferred music: Various, mostly rock oriented
Room size: Huge
Stage: 15 x 40. (bring the long cables!)
Lights Excellent in house lighting with good operator
PA: You bring it
Controlling Agency: Various- owners book most acts themselves
Overall Rating: 4 Stars - Pretty Good
Comments: One of my favorite rooms to play. They also have good food.
On-stage power is kinda marginal for such a large room. The lighting system uses all of the available 220. Better plug the PA into the wall outlet on the right of the stage marked "MAINS", or you might have power problems within the band.

The Log Cabin, Lacey

Preferred music: Rock
Room size: Small, Capacity 200
Stage: Small square stage with drumriser
Lights Par56's and some intelligent lights
PA: Bring your own
Controlling Agency: None
Overall Rating: 3 Stars - Fair
Comments: Small but fun bar with a good dancing crowd

Lucky Eagle, Rochester

Preferred music: Retro Dance - Blues
Room size: Medium
Stage: 18" hi x 10'D x 18 W
Lights Provided
PA: Provided but small
Controlling Agency: TBN
Overall Rating: 3 Stars - Fair
Comments: Very isolated but good crowd turnout. Tiny dance area in front of stage. Load in through the front door. Bring AC quad boxes.

Mardini's, Snohomish

Preferred music: Classic Rock/Blues
Room size: Small but fun
Stage: Smaller but adequate. More than 5 people would be crowded
Lights You bring it
PA: You bring it
Controlling Agency: None
Overall Rating: 4 Stars - Pretty Good
Comments: Great crowds that love to dance to just about everything, ALL NIGHT LONG!! Friendly waitstaff and the owner, Zou, is a nice guy and he pays pretty decent too!!

Muckleshoot Casino, Auburn

Preferred music: Varies from current to oldies
Room size: Large - two bars
Stage: Large, with video on each side
Lights Provided
PA: Provided
Controlling Agency: 3Ci/BBA
Overall Rating: 4 Stars - Pretty Good
Comments: The rule is you use their drum kit, no exceptions. Drummer can bring his own beater and cymbals if desired. Drums are on a riser behind a plexiglas wall - you can't hear them except through your monitor. Monitors are run from a digital side board but no dedicated operator - you have to flag down the FOH operator and get him to make tweaks as needed. They save your settings once you're happy, which takes a while, but they're right back where you left off when you go back. There are six monitor sends, which is probably adequate for most. Mains are under the stage so the sound seems muffled from above. They control the level to 90dB at the FOH mix location, so it's not a very loud gig. Motorized lights and video are awesome - you can even have them make a video tape from the FOH board location. Variety of ages in the crowd (only perspective is the afternoon slot). Great green room with its own dressing room and even a shower, right behind the stage. Band Rules posted right there in the green room - no drinking, no gambling, no having fun of any kind, just get your three 1-hour sets in, don't be late, and don't try to cut any time. And be prepared to load out in under 30 minutes so the next band can get in there in the same 30 minutes.

Oxford Saloon, Snohomish

Preferred music: Rock, Blues
Room size: 100 people
Stage: 6x12 stage, rectangular room
Lights Bring
PA: Bring
Controlling Agency: None
Overall Rating: 3 Stars - Fair
Comments: A dive by any means but can be a good room for most rock and blues bands.

Petosa's, Lynnwood

Preferred music: Classic Rock - Top 40
Room size: Medium
Stage: 10 X 30 (L Shaped)
Lights None
PA: Bring your own
Controlling Agency: Farwest
Overall Rating: 4 Stars - Pretty Good
Comments: Great staff. Saturday's usually packed. Have to be a little careful with stage volume. There's a neighbor that likes to call the cops.

PJ Pockets, Federal Way

Preferred music: Top 40, Dance
Room size: Medium
Stage: Corner stage approx. 18x12
Lights Provided, but marginal
PA: Provided, barely adequate
Controlling Agency: 3Ci
Overall Rating: 3 Stars - Fair
Comments:

You can bring your own p.a. as long as you're done by 1:00pm, and it helps to augment the house lighting with some form of intelligent lighting.

Q'z Club, Graham

Preferred music: Variety Rock
Room size: Medium to Small
Stage: 18" high, approx. 14' square.
Lights "C" quality house lighting and difficult to hang your own
PA: You bring. If you bring more than one speaker, they look at you funny.
Controlling Agency: 3Ci
Overall Rating: 2 Stars - Barely Okay
Comments:

It's good to have a room, any room, on the circuit. Even another sports bar. This room is a long drive from anywhere except Graham, with a stage that is barely adequate for a 4 piece band. The way it's laid out today, the room is not friendly to production. The staff isn't real friendly to the idea of large production, either. We made them happy by taking 1/2 of the stuff we brought and putting it back in the trailer. It's not that the room is that small, it's just that the stage layout seeems to have been designed by a Karoke crew...who later added on a springy 4' extension to the stage so that the other bodies could be on stage with a drum set.

Raging River Saloon, Fall City

Preferred music: From Blues to Top 40
Room size: Small and intimate
Stage: About 12'x7'x1'. Inches from bar.
Lights Cheap disco lights and few pars
PA: 2 flying Peavey 12's w/horn
Controlling Agency: None
Overall Rating: 3 Stars - Fair
Comments: Great staff and owner. The best pizza around (2 for band after show). No free drinks unless your nice to the bartender. Load through the front door. You will be monitored for decibles.Smoke outside.Busy place.

The River Rock Grill & Alehouse, Renton

Preferred music: 70's funk/r&b and classic rock
Room size: Small
Stage: No stage
Lights Bring small light set-up (very small)
PA: Bring small p.a.
Controlling Agency: Open
Overall Rating: 5 Stars - Excellent
Comments: This room has no stage or dance floor, you basically set up by the window, and as the music goes, people make room to dance. It's a very small, very classy place, right on the golf course. The crowd is very supportive and the staff is the coolest of any place we've played, they're a blast and will get right in on the action w/you. The budget is very low, but is a great gig for a 3-piece band. They only are going to have music in the summer, but it will be both nights. They won't go above 700, and for most bands it will probably be more like 600. Great food too....

The Royal Bear, Algona

Preferred music: Rock
Room size: Medium
Stage: 25' X 9' with drum riser
Lights Provided
PA: Bring your own
Controlling Agency: None
Overall Rating: 3 Stars - Fair
Comments: Decent size club with good hearted staff. Market pay rates.

The South Pacific, Tumwater

Preferred music: Rock
Room size: Small
Stage: Small Stage
Lights Bring your own
PA: Bring your own
Controlling Agency: None
Overall Rating: 4 Stars - Pretty Good
Comments: Friendly staff, small stage does have a 220 hookup. Dance floor is tiny but the room has a decent layout that most people in the restaurant can see the stage.

Waldo's, Kirkland

Preferred music: Classic Rock/80's Rock
Room size: Medium
Stage: Decent, medim-sized
Lights In-house
PA: In-house
Controlling Agency: Pacific Rim
Overall Rating: 3 Stars - Fair
Comments: Sound guy (Burt) is a cool dude and easy to work with. Patronage is hit and miss (usually miss). Don`t expect more than 85 bucks a night if yer lucky. What happenned to that place???
